Course Description: (5 credits)
The students begin with a review of Latin I grammar and vocabulary
followed by further building of vocabulary and a mastery of the more sophisticated
elements of Latin grammar. This is approached through further readings dealing with
Roman society and mythology.
During the course of this
year students will be rewriting one of the
skits/plays in their textbook (Stage 22: the
Modestus & Vilbia story "amor omnia
vincit" or "Love Conquers All"). They will act
it out (in costumes). Magistra will video
tape this play.
During the spring
semester, students will be required to research
and prepare a 3-5 oral presentation with a
3-demensional visual aid. Students will be
able to select a topic dealing with daily life
in Rome.
The course uses audio-visual resources, computer programs and a
hands-on approach to learning.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of previous level.
