Early Dismissal Privilege
Seniors who have a Period 9
Study Hall may leave school, with prior written parental permission, at the end
of Period 8. This Early Dismissal Privilege applies
only to the Period 9 Study Hall.
Permission forms will be issued at the Senior Meeting on the opening day
of school and must be returned to the Main Office prior to utilizing the privilege.
The Early Dismissal
Privilege has been granted to permit Seniors to
participate in gainful employment or other meaningful activities outside of
school. Seniors who fail to accept the
responsibilities accompanying this privilege by loitering in the school, or on
or near school grounds, will lose the privilege and be reassigned to scheduled
school functions through 2:41.
Study Hall Privilege
Seniors, like students in
grades 9-11, must on a daily basis sign
into the location they choose for their Study Hall. All students may choose
among the following locations for their Study Hall period: the official Study
Hall (either the cafeteria or a classroom), the Library, a pre-arranged
conference with a teacher or Guidance Counselor. Seniors may, after reporting
to and being signed into the official Study Hall location by the Study Hall
teacher, spend their Study Hall in the Senior Lounge or the outdoor flagpole
area adjacent to the cafeteria. All students must be in an approved location at
the beginning of the period and remain there for the entire period. All
students, including Seniors, are not to loiter in the
halls, wander around the school, leave campus, etc. Students who fail to adhere
to these procedures will forfeit the privilege of choosing from among the
several approved Study Hall locations and will be assigned to the official
Study Hall location.
Senior Lounge Privilege
A Senior Lounge has been
established in the cafeteria. Only
Seniors are permitted in the lounge at any time - before, during or after
school. Underclassmen are not to utilize the Lounge at any time. Additionally, Seniors may not invite underclassmen into the Lounge.
Seniors may use the Lounge before and after school, during their assigned lunch
periods and during Study Hall, after signing into the Study Hall. Seniors are
expected and required to display appropriate behavior in the Lounge and to
maintain the Lounge in a clean and orderly condition. Seniors who fail to
accept the responsibilities accompanying this privilege will lose it.
If it is necessary to remain
at school after “early dismissal”, the cafeteria is available during Period 9
for study or meeting with friends.
Parking on School Grounds Privilege
Seniors will be issued
parking information on the opening day of school. The “Application for Senior
Parking Permit” must be completed in its entirety and returned to the Main
Office. Seniors are not to park on school grounds until they have been issued a
“parking decal” and accompanying parking information. Seniors who are issued a “parking decal” may park only in the parking spaces
reserved for Senior Parking. There is to be no other student parking on school grounds during the hours school
is in session. Students who fail to accept the responsibilities accompanying
this privilege by parking illegally will be subject to loss of the privilege,
school disciplinary action, and police citation/fine/towing (at the owner’s
expense).
Students who park on
off-campus private property or on restricted streets subject themselves to
police citation/fine and towing (at the owner’s expense).
