Highlighted Sport of the Issue- Boys' Basketball
A staff member from the Bulldog News caught up with Coach Porter to talk about our highlighted sport of the issue- Boys' Basketball.
Q: What
were the teams average wins and losses of the season?
A: 7 wins, 9 losses
Q: What
qualities of the team made them successful?
A: They had fun on and off the court as a team. They didn't hang their
heads after a loss, and they were very gracious winners.
Q: What
areas did the team improve in over the season?
A: They improved on moving with and without the ball. They became more
patient on offense and worked well together to find the open man.
Q: What
was the most exciting game and why?
A: Our final game against New Egypt because we were very close to
beating an undefeated team. The team played their hearts out and never
gave up.
Q: What
did the practices consist of?
A: Ball drills and working on offenses and defense.
Q: How
often were the practices and how long did they last?
A: We had practice every weekday except Mondays or game days. We would
practice from 3:00-5:00.
Q: What
inspired you to become the coach for the boys' basketball team?
A: I've always enjoyed the game and my coach taught me a lot about how
to win and lose with class. I'd like to give a little of that to the
kids.
