THE NEWSPAPER STAFF’S PICK FOR BEST VACATION SPOT THIS SUMMER:
DISNEY WORLD

Disney World is where all the magic happens. It has four Disney parks and some other parks outside of it. The four parks are called: Magic Kingdom, Disney’s MGM studios, Animal Kingdom and Epcot. There are also two water parks called Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.

The Magic Kingdom

The Magic Kingdom is a great place for kids and adults. Inside of this Disney Park there are six towns: Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Liberty Square, Main Street USA, Adventureland, Frontierland and Mickey's Toontown Fair.

In Tomorrowland, the rides are Space Mountain, Astro Orbitor, and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin.

In Fantasyland, there is It's a Small World, Peter Pan's Flight, Fairytale Garden, Snow White's Scary Adventures, Dumbo the flying Elephant, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and, of course, Cinderella's Castle.

In Liberty Square, there is the Haunted Mansion and the Hall of Presidents.

On Main Street USA there are some really great things such as Walt Disney World Railroad, VMK central, and there are some delicious dining places such as, Tony's Town Square Restaurant, Casey's Corner and, The Plaza Restaurant (my favorite).

In Frontierland, there are some really fun rides, such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Tom Sawyer's Island, and Splash Mountain

In Adventureland the rides are The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, The Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management, Jungle Cruise, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Mickey's Toontown Fair has Minnie and Mickey's houses, Toontown Hall of Fame, Donald's Boat and Goofy's Barnstormer.

All of these are EXCELLENT attractions!

Animal Kindgom

The Animal Kingdom is a fabulous park that makes learning about animals fun. This park includes the legendary Tree of Life. This tree has all the animals of the world represented in its bark. This park also includes the Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safari, Primeval Whirl, DINOSAUR, and Mount Everest: The Forbidden Mountain. There are also shows there like The Festival of the Lion King, Pocahontas and her Forest Friends, and It's Tough to be a Bug. There are also places where you can meet the characters.

MGM Studios

MGM Studios is a movie-themed park with plenty of exciting shows to enjoy. Some good shows in MGM are, Muppet Vision 3-D, Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Fantasmania, Playhouse Disney – Live on Stage and lots more. Some good rides are Tower of Terror (if you want a good drop) and Rock and Roll Rollercoaster.

Typhoon Lagoon

Before Blizzard Beach opened, Typhoon Lagoon was the largest water park in Disney World. Some attractions that you might enjoy are the Crush ‘n Gusher, Banana Blaster, Coconut Crusher Pineapple Plunger, Humunga Kowabunga, the wave pool and lots more. Humunga Kowabunga is a slide where you can hit 30mph as you speed down the steep hill. The Crush ‘n Gusher, Banana Blaster, Coconut Crusher and Pineapple Plunger all have tunnels that twist and turn as you make your way to the end. Plus, the park also offers private surfing lessons in the wave pool.

Epcot

Epcot is based on some of the countries in the world. Each part of Epcot is a different country. For instance, one part might be China, which has rides or shows based on China.  Some attractions are The Sea where you can really talk to Crush, the turtle from Finding Nemo. The audience asks him questions and he really answers. It is just like having a regular conversation with someone. Some good rides are Test Track and Mission Space. It’s a ride that you experience a test drive in a car. Also there’s Mission Space. You feel as if you’re in a real spaceship blasting off to space. Another thing you might consider to see is The Land. The Land is home to Circle of Life, Living With the Land Boat ride, Behind the Seeds Tour and much more!

Blizzard Beach

Blizzard Beach is a great place to cool off after being in the hot sun.  Blizzard Beach is home to one of the world’s tallest free-fall slides. It is called Summit Plummet. You go down a 120 foot slide reaching speeds up to 60 mph! If you are up to this you must be at least forty-eight inches to ride.  Teamboat Springs is also a good slide to go on with the family. It takes six passengers down a series of waterfalls and twists and turns. Coral Reef is a once in a lifetime chance to snorkel with sharks and other tropical fish swimming underneath you. If you visit this park, be prepared to get wet!
