Meet Ms. Flynn
Ms. Flynn grew up an only
child in Randolph, New Jersey. After graduation, she
attended Boston College as a Governor's Teaching Scholar,
where she earned her degree in Elementary Education in
1993. For six years, she taught 8th grade in Hillsborough,
New Jersey, while working towards her Master's Degree in
English Education at Rutgers University. During her tenure
at Hillsborough Middle School, she received the honor of
Teacher of the Year. She then transferred to Hillsborough
High School where she taught English to all grade levels and
coached field hockey.
Ms. Flynn happily
accepted the position of Literacy teacher at BMS in the
summer of 2001. She loves teaching in a block schedule
format because it allows her ample opportunity to teach
creatively and get to know her students. She enjoys taking
post-graduate classes to keep up with current educational
research and is slowly but eagerly adding technology to her
teaching practices. Presently, Ms. Flynn resides with her
husband, two young boys, and her black lab, Payton, in
Chatham. In the summer, though, you might see her surfing
at the shore in Seaside Park or attending a Major League
Lacrosse game!
