Andee Costabile, a senior at Bernards High School, has been recognized by the school as the “Everyday Hero” for December.

Nominees for the monthly Everyday Hero Program are students who have a positive influence on the student body through exemplary qualities. Selected students inspire others, are responsible and respectable and have a commitment to peers and the school community. Students are nominated by one or more teachers, selected by the Everyday Hero committee, and announced schoolwide by either Principal Scott Neigel or Assistant Principal Mike Corbett.

Andee Costabile is the embodiment of an Everyday Hero. As the captain of the BHS girls’ soccer team, she leads with both skill and commitment, setting an inspiring example for her teammates. However, Andee's impact extends far beyond the soccer field or even the classroom, where she also excels. A Student Council officer, she immerses herself in the culture and climate of Bernards High School at every turn.  Andee is deeply committed to fostering a feeling of inclusion, always looking for ways to make her peers feel welcomed and valued.  She can be seen at any school dance, pulling all of her peers onto the dance floor…even those she has never met.  Every new person Andee meets becomes a friend to Andee, and her frequent greetings of “Hello, Sunshine!” make smiles happen throughout the halls, every single day.  Andee feels with her whole heart, at all times, and makes the world a better place as a result.

Andee, as well as her peers, who will be recognized monthly during the 2024-2025 school year, will receive a generous gift certificate from Nicoletta Pizzeria, the sponsor of the Everyday Hero Program.
