Kayli McGowan-Kinney, a senior at Bernards High School, is being recognized by the school as the “Everyday Hero” for February.

Nominees for the monthly Everyday Hero Program are students who have a positive influence on the student body through exemplary qualities. Selected students inspire others, are responsible and respectable and have a commitment to peers and the school community. Students are nominated by one or more teachers, selected by the Everyday Hero committee, and announced school-wide  by either Principal Scott Neigel or Assistant Principal Mike Corbett.

The February Everyday Hero is a selfless student who always considers others first. In the classroom, she is cognizant of how she can make positive contributions for the betterment of the whole class. This hero often brings a mature point of view to class discussions, setting a positive example for other students and driving everyone around her to contribute, to grow, and to become better learners. Kayli cares for her friends and easily makes students she does not know feel comfortable and welcome, no matter the circumstances. She is involved in extracurricular activities, participates in many ways in the school community, and truly cares about making Bernards High School the best school it can be!

Kayli, as well as her peers who will be recognized monthly during the 2024-2025 school year, will receive a generous gift certificate from Nicoletta Pizzeria, the sponsor of the Everyday Hero Program.
