Nine teams. More than sixty students playing. Tons of noise, action, and enthusiasm!  The first-ever Volleyball Tournament, organized by Bernards High School junior class officers, was held during the evening of January 16th. They were inspired by the Student Council’s Dodgeball Tournament back in November 2024 and their goal was to create yet another after-school event for students to come together across grade levels, to demonstrate school spirit and to compete in a fun and inclusive environment. 

This Class of 2026 event raised money in support of the Junior and Senior Prom and a future Class of 2026 mural. The winning team, NJLC, was awarded $150. Gamma Ray and The Buzz were the 2nd and 3rd place teams respectively, who were each awarded trophies. A portion of the profits were donated to the junior class’ chosen charity, Homeless Solutions, which is a non-profit organization that works with individuals in Morris County who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, to attain housing stability. In previous years, the class has collected donations of clothing and goods to aid this organization. 

Continuing their momentum, the week of February 10th, the junior class will host their annual bake sale, which for the past few years has been a successful event!  Junior class officers Nolan Baker (President), Westin Lukes (Vice President), Vedaant Vasandani (Treasurer), Avery Calulo (Corresponding Secretary), and Andew Tropp (Recording Secretary) are also busily preparing for the Junior Prom this spring.
