Somerset Hills School District Celebrates Students Awarded with Academic Achievements
Dr. Scott Neigel, principal of Bernards High School, has announced that ten students have been recognized by the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. The following nine students were recognized as National Merit Scholarship Competition Commended Students: Hannah Vinegra, Lucian Spiteri, Robert Lopez, Joseph Kalinowski, Jack Ecklund, Rowan Eckel, Elizabeth Chen, Julian Bonk and Sixten Alstrom. Dheirya Tyagi was recognized as a National Merit Scholarship Competition Semifinalist, and will have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 6,930 National Merit Scholarships.
“Bernards High School takes great pride in these seniors who have earned distinction through the National Merit Program,” said Dr. Neigel. “Their achievements reflect not only exceptional scholarship, but also a deep commitment to our school community. They lead by example - balancing academic rigor with integrity, service, and character.”
These Bernards High School students were celebrated with a breakfast on November 14th and will be recognized by the Superintendent, Dr. Brian Brotschul, and the Board of Education members at the November 19th Board of Education Meeting.
