Teacher Spotlight: Matthew LaPine
Mr. Matthew LaPine, Choral Director at Bernards High School, was named quarterfinalist for the 2026 GRAMMY Music Educator Award.
The award recognizes current educators who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education, who demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools, and who have made a remarkable impact on students’ lives.
Of the 2,000 teachers who were nominated, 200 were selected as quarterfinalists. Of those quarterfinalists, only seven were from New Jersey, including our local Somerset Hills School District music educator Mr. LaPine! Wishing him the best of luck in this next round of semifinalists which will be announced in September 2025.
