Hot Off The Griddle

For the 2024-2025 school year, the Somerset Hills School District will be implementing a school breakfast option for its 1600+ students, in conjunction with Maschio’s Food Services. With this addition to the nutritious selections they already provide students for lunch, breakfast will be offered on each of the three school campuses. The daily Grab & Go breakfast will consist of a main entree, and students will get to select milk, juice, and a fruit of their choice.

Like the lunch menus, digital breakfast menus are available on the district website. Breakfast will be available at 7:15am at BHS, at 7:30am at BMS, and at 8:35am at BES. The cost is $2.75 at the high school and $2.50 at the elementary and middle school levels.

“Well-balanced meals are a great way to start the day for all children, helping to improve concentration and academic performance. And having breakfast options are helpful for busy families too,” shared Denise Menza, Maschio’s Area Supervisor.

Throughout the school year, Maschio’s will continue to publish its Cafeteria Connection newsletter with healthy tips, fun nutrition facts, and student-friendly recipes. They will also be celebrating Jersey Fresh Farm-to-School Week in September. That was a huge success last year and the district is excited for the students to have those experiences once again!
