Welcome to Bernards High/Middle School’s Athletic Training/Sports Medicine site. We are committed to providing outstanding quality of care for all SHSD student athletes. Athletic trainers (ATs) can assist with injury prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions. Experts in concussions, sports injuries, and sports-related illnesses, ATs work cooperatively alongside additional local healthcare professionals.
Mr. James Horan is the Athletic Trainer for Bernards High/Middle School, supporting the district through a partnership with JAG-ONE Physical Therapy. A graduate from Canisius College, James brings professional level athletic experience from when he was with the New York Red Bulls Academy for 8 years. In addition to being a licensed athletic trainer he is also a certified Corrective Exercise Specialist and Clinical Kinesiotaping Practitioner, Clinical Blood Flow Restriction Practitioner, and Instrument- Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization Practitioner.
The Athletic Training room is located in the Lower Gymnasium building entrance. It is room G-201, on the main floor overlooking the lower gym itself.
