Hello My Name Is...
<My Name>
Thanks for stopping by our page! I am so excited to be teaching first grade this year! I am back at Bedwell after taking a year off after having my son, Charlie! I am thrilled to be back and on a new adventure in first grade!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I graduated from the University of Delaware in 2003. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I started teaching second grade at Bedwell in December of 2003. Since then I also went back to school for my master's degree. I am also certified as a Reading Specialist. I feel that this reading training is really helpful now that I am a first grade teacher, and working with emerging readers! Now that I am back, this year is my ninth year at Bedwell, and I love coming to school every day!
I am excited to enter into a new year in first grade. I believe that all children can learn if given the right tools, and if someone believes in them. Our classroom will be a safe environment where children feel encouraged to draw upon their strengths, are helped to make strides with weaknesses, and celebrate their differences. I believe that learning should be hands-on, fun, and challenge young minds. I believe that if children develop a love of learning at a young age, that desire to learn will continue to grow. I look forward to working together to make this a wonderful year for your child. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
