The mission of The Somerset Hills School District is to provide an authentic and balanced learning experience for each student by harnessing the power of innovation and an engaged community to create thoughtful and impactful global citizens.

 District/CSA Goal for 2021-2022

Goal: The 21-22 school year will bring novel challenges, and it is imperative that the district identify and address the myriad impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to return to safe, enriching, fully in-person learning in the 2021-2022 school year.

Areas of Focus:

  • Academic - The most critical prerequisite skills and knowledge will be prioritized, multiple measures of data will be leveraged to identify and address need, and appropriate professional development will be provided in order to support an accelerated learning approach to instruction.
  • Financial - Plans will maximize existing (e.g. Title I, II, III, IV) and newly-developed (e.g. ESSER I (CARES), ESSER II, ARP ESSER) federal revenue streams to align and support recovery efforts.
  • Insecurities - The district will support the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students and staff by strengthening the efficacy of tiered systems of support and broadening the focus of school climate and trauma-informed initiatives.
  • Health and Safety - Efforts will work to reduce risks to students and staff from COVID-19 while still prioritizing full-time in-person learning.
  • Continuity efforts will ensure that initiatives already in progress (e.g. K-8 mathematics curricular improvements) will move forward uninterrupted and required compliance efforts (e.g. QSAC, data submissions) will not detract from continuous improvement efforts.
