Next Public Board Meeting

Updates from the BOE Reorganization Meeting 

On January 2nd the Board held its annual reorganization meeting where departing board members Kristen deGrandpre and Ian Joyce were honored for their service to their school community. Holly Clark-Emery, Mindy Hoppe and Nicole Cooper were sworn in for their 3 year terms. Sam Frenda and Heather Santoro were re-elected as President and Vice President of the Board respectively.

Pathways to Success District Newsletter

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION FOR SEPTEMBER 2025

 

Registration for Kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year is now open. All parents/guardians of children who will be entering kindergarten in September 2025 can go online to https://www.shsd.org/cms/One.aspx?portalId=104771&pageId=97289232 and pre-register.  

 

Students must be five years of age by October 1, 2025 in order to enroll in Kindergarten for the 2025 - 2026 school year.

Registration will take place by appointment, February 3, 2025 through February 21, 2025 from 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM and 2 PM - 3 PM at the Somerset Hills District Office (25 Olcott Ave). Please note that the final step in the online application process will be to select an appointment time slot from the choices above .

Meet and talk with teachers, staff members, and our Home and School Association representatives at the Incoming Kindergarten Parent Meet & Greet on March 10, 2025 at 4:00 PM in the Bedwell Elementary School’s Courtyard. A tour of the building will be provided. All parents/guardians are invited and encouraged to attend.  

Save the Date!

The annual Sweetheart Dance (Formerly Father Daughter Dance) will take place on Friday, March 7th from 7 to 9pm in the Bedwell cafeteria. Invitations will go out next week! We hope to see you there!

3/15/25 Registration is now open for New Jersey Audubon's Summer Nature Camps located locally in Bernardsville. Register by March 15th for early bird discount. Join us for the Fifth Annual Shamrock Shuffle in beautiful Bernardsville, NJ on Saturday March 22nd. Race day will include a USATF Grand Prix 5K on our challenging and scenic certified course, a 2 mile walk, a FREE kids fun run and St. Patrick's Day festivities. Registration is only $18 for adults and $15 for youth (14 and under). An optional supersoft commemorative t-shirt is available as an add-on during registration. The first 350 runners who register for the 5K will receive a festive finisher medal.

Facing Fentanyl: Documentary Screening & Narcan Training

Thursday, Feb 27th 6:30 pm, Bernards Twp Library

 

Join us for a free documentary screening and Narcan training in Bernards Township. Prevention Resource’s newest documentary, “Facing Fentanyl” is intended to educate the community about dangers of Fentanyl and features local stories of those affected by the opioid crisis. Documentary run time is 18 minutes.

 

Following a brief discussion will be a Narcan Training. Naloxone (Narcan) is a drug that reverses the effects of an opioid or heroin overdose. Naloxone training is funded by the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services and will be facilitated by the Opioid Overdose Prevention Network (OOPN) at the Division of Addiction Psychiatry at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Open to all community members over the age of 18. Seating is limited. In partnership with the Bernards Township Health Department, Bernards Township Municipal Alliance, Governor’s Council on Substance Use Disorder, the Opioid Overdose Prevention Network (OOPN) at the Division of Addiction Psychiatry at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Safe Communities Coalition, Prevention Resources, Community in Crisis and Connection, and part of the Bernards Township Mayor’s Wellness Campaign.

Health Matters February Newsletter

The 6th annual Winter Market opens on Saturday, January 18 and runs Saturdays through March 29 at the Bernardsville train station, Rt. 202 & Claremont Road; 10 am to noon. Get fresh aquaponic vegetables, pasture-raised meats, baked goods, pickles, gourmet prepared food, specialty items and more.

Attention children in grades K - 12: You can join 4-H! Clubs meet year-round from September until August when members showcase their accomplishments at the Somerset County 4-H Fair (August 6 - 8, 2025).
